How to Care for a Buttercream Cake

My buttercream is irresistibly creamy, and because I use real butter, it needs the right cake care to maintain its smooth texture. Follow these simple steps:

  • Safe transport: Just like with fondant, carry the box from the bottom. Keep it level and place it on the floor of the car during the drive.
  • Fridge is best: Store your cake in an airtight box in the refrigerator. Keep it away from any heat or moisture to protect the design.
  • Room temperature magic: For the best flavor, remove your cake from the fridge 1-2 hours before serving. This allows the buttercream to reach room temperature and become soft and delicious again.
  • Proper support: Always display your cake on a sturdy stand that is at least the same size as the bottom cake board.
  • Slicing prep: Remember to remove any non-edible decorations before you start slicing and serving.
  • Leftovers: Store any remaining pieces in an airtight container in the fridge and enjoy within 3-4 days.

I want your celebration to be perfect from start to finish. If you have any other questions about the right cake care for your creation, I’m always here to help.
