How to Care for a Fondant Cake

Fondant-covered cakes are true works of art, and I want yours to stay flawless until the party starts. Here are my essential cake care tips for handling them:

Handle with love: Always pick up and carry the cake box from the bottom. It is the safest way to keep the structure stable.

The flattest spot: Keep the cake level at all times. During transport, the floor of your car is actually the best spot—it’s much flatter and steadier than the seats.

Stay chilled: Use an air-conditioned vehicle and keep the cake away from any loose objects that could slide into the box.

Avoid the sun: Sunlight, moisture, and heat are not friends with fondant. Keep your cake in a cool, dry place away from windows.

A solid base: Use a sturdy cake stand that is at least an inch larger than the cake board for proper support.

Saving a slice: If you have leftovers, store them in the refrigerator in an airtight container to keep that fresh, from-scratch texture.
I want your celebration to be perfect from start to finish. If you have any other questions about the right cake care for your creation, I’m always here to help.
